about
The Show Will Go On is releasing on New Years Eve to directly help to support the Staff of the Lizard Lounge- Since NYE is such a big night for industry staff it seems the right night to release it.
Henley Row Studio owner, Dan Nicklin penned the melody and worked out the words with bandmate Nate Leavitt after seeing a picture of the Paradise in Boston- whose marquee read "the show will go on"
The words quickly came together as a tribute to the Lizard Lounge where OldJack has had a monthly residency for the last 5 years- cut short only by Covid.
The song however seems to have universal appeal for how we all are feeling being locked away from loved ones.
It features many of the artists who have been working in and around Henley Row for the last year or two. Members of Lonley Leesa and the Lost Cowboys, Magen Tracey and the Missed Connections, Erica Mantone, Dino Cattaneo, The Rationales, Airport, Eddie Japan, OldJack all come together on a "we are the world" style sing along track.
Recorded and mixed in just under 10 days, the song came together quickly and we hope you love it. Make a donation if you can- or make one to another organization helping the Hospitality and entertainment workers left without work from the pandemic.
lyrics
The show will go on
The show will go on
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
Yeah the show will go on,
wipe the tables,
mop the floors
Write their names in chalk out on the board
We'll get sound at 4 for 7:30 Doors
Stock the bar up, they'll be coming down the stairs
Light the candles, Dim the lights-
We're almost there
The show will go on
The show will go on
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
It's been a long time since I saw your face
and there's a long long winter coming next
But I promise you, when there comes a time
go 'head and pour my drink-
I'll be the first in line
The show will go on
The show will go on
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
The show will go on
The show will go on
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
Lala la la lala la la lala lala la la
light the candles
dim the light
stock the bar
I'll be the first in line

Songs brought to life by the family of musicians that record at and pass through Henley Row. The allstars team can change song to song but the feeling of family always exists.
Raw and hooky as heck, “Disaster Preparedness Coloring Book” is all classic, ragged indie sonics and rock-solid melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 3, 2023
